Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (8.65 ounces)
  • 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, full fat at room temperature
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 8 ounces smoked salmon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 390F/200C. Prepare 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Unroll 1 sheet of puff pastry and cut it into 12 squares. Using a fork, poke each square and make 4 indentations with a knife (don't cut all the way through).
  • In a small bowl make an egg wash with 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of water. Brush each square and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them cool completely before assembling.
  • Whipped cream cheese: cream together cream cheese, garlic, black pepper, and whipping cream until light and fluffy. Fold in the green onions.
  • Once the puff pastry is cool, spread the cream cheese mixture, and add a slice of smoked salmon.

Notes

Whipped cream cheese mixture can be made 2 to 3 days ahead. Keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
